I am happy that I finally published my first novel: "The Saigon Wedding." A mystery set in 1924 Saigon.
It's been a passion project of mine, and it's finally done.It started out as a hobby. Random thoughts on a page. An idle conversation after a long meal.
It started with two charactaers:
- Nyla, a Vietnamese socialite.
- Sven, her Swedish servant.
These two characters would travel the world solving crimes.
But scenes started to get stuck in my head. Like an interrogation between Nyla and another man. Or chaos at a wedding. Until I just decided to write them down. In the beginning, there wasn't really any strategic plotting. If I had an idea, I would write it down, regardless of where I was. On a train, up at night, in the middle of a long line. It didn't matter as long as I had something to write on.
It took two years before I even had a clear plot. And four years before I had a completed draft. But then I moved to Paris and took a chance. To let myself write full-time. It's been a long journey, and there is a long way to go. But I've finished the first book, and that makes me very happy.
The ebook is now available on Amazon!
